Mixed Media Card 20 – Christmas Card

This is the twentieth part in a 30 part series showing you different mixed media cards that I have made. These will all include video tutorials and I am hoping that you will get some great ideas and make your own mixed media cards for all occasions. This is a very simple but effective Christmas card. Give it a try!
The intention is that you can make your cards using the craft supplies that you already have at home. Take my ideas and adapt them to what you have right now. Hopefully you will also find some new skills along the way.
So, let’s get started.

You will need:
- Piece of card or card blank
- Glue (simple gluestick is sufficient)
- PVA or Decoupage glue
- Watercolour or acrylic paint
- PVA or decoupage glue
- Printable Greeting (free, see below)
Simple Instructions
- Take your two chosen paint colours and paint each half of the card front. Allowing them to merge where they meet gives an interesting effect. I used a stippling effect with a large brush to add the effect of texture.
- To avoid paint getting on the back of the card place a piece of paper between the front and the back of the card.
- If you add more water to your paint it will move more freely on the card and be a softer colour.
- Leave it to dry
- Add any lace that you like using the decoupage technique.
- Also you could add washi tape, doodles, stamps, stencils, etc
- A great idea is to run an ink pad around the edge of the card to add some more colour. This could match or contrast with your paint.
- Add any other embellishments you like including a sentiment. You can get free sentiments below.
- This card used a wooden topper which needed a multi-purpose glue to attach it.
- You are all finished!
