Mixed Media Card 8 – Purple & Gold Joy

This is the eighth part in a 30 part series showing you different mixed media cards that I have made. These will all include video tutorials and I am hoping that you will get some great ideas and make your own mixed media cards for all occasions.
The intention is that you can make your cards using the craft supplies that you already have at home. Take my ideas and adapt them to what you have right now. So, let’s get started.

You will need:
NOTE: This is what I used but you can use as many or as few of these as you like. Just use what you have!
- Piece of card or card blank
- Acrylic Paint (purple and yellow)
- Toilet Roll Tube / Old Cotton Bobbin (or similar)
- Bubble Wrap
- Stencils
- Tissue Paper
- Flowers
- Washi Tape
- PVA Glue (or decoupage glue)
- Old book pages (encyclopedias are great)
- Printable Greeting if you want one (free, see below)
- Small Sticky Pads
Simple Instructions
- Choose your colour and paint the front of your card. I like to see the brush strokes but if you don’t you may need to take more care. Let it dry.
- Choose your accent colour and decide on your stamper. Great ideas here are toilet roll tubes (which you can squeeze into different shapes), cotton bobbins, jar lids, bottle tops, etc. Get creative! Now use those shapes and your accent paint to add some details to your background.
- My favourite was bubble wrap which gave a great spotted effect.
- Glue some tissue paper on using pva or decoupage glue to add some texture.
- Apply some Washi tape down the folded edge of the card in another contrasting colour.
- Choose your flowers and glue them in place on the bottom right corner. I added more than one layer on my flowers and you can add beads, etc as flower centres.
- Add any further embellishments like a greeting from my free printable greetings.
- You are finished!
