So you know you want to make an Origami flower but you also want an Origami flower stem and leaf. Well, you have come to the right place. This tutorial will show you how to make a really quick but effective Origami stem with leaf.
This stem is quite robust and will stand up on it’s own with a flower on it. However it can become a bit top heavy if the flower is quite large so experiment. Plus, they look great in a vase anyway.
You will be able to add this stem to some flowers without using any glue simply by pushing the stem into the base of the flower. However, you may want to add a little glue to stop it coming off or if your flower does not have a hole in its base.

Preliminary Origami Folds
Take your square of green paper and if it has a white side and a green side make sure it is green side down. Fold the paper in half along the diagonal (bring opposite corners together).
Then open it back out ready to start folding your stem.
Place your paper so that it is still green side down and with one of the points towards you. Fold the upper right and left sides in to the centre.
Now, fold the lower right and left sides so that they are now at the centre line.
Repeat that step with the lower sides by folding them to the centre again. Your paper will now be getting quite narrow.
Form the Origami stem and leaf
Turn the paper over. Then fold the bottom corner right up to the top corner.
Fold the whole thing in half so that the left hand side is folded across all the way to the right.
From the left side peel back the leaf away from the stem. You can curl it if you want to so that it is more ‘leaf like’.
Congratulations you have completed your Origami flower stem with leaf. I hope that you have enjoyed it and that you will go onto make many more and add beautiful Origami flowers to your life.
