0:00
hi in this video i'm going to show you
0:02
all about how to revamp your jeans using
0:05
go crazy design it however you like
0:09
really easy hardly any sewing so
0:12
this channel is all about crafting on a
0:14
budget and this is about revamping your
0:17
so all you're going to need is a pair of
0:18
jeans that you want to revamp here's an
0:20
old pair of really dark blue ones of
0:23
and i'm just going to decorate the
0:24
pockets you can sew buttons wherever you
0:27
but i'm just going to show you how to
0:29
decorate the top and give you some key
0:31
pointers and if you've never been sewing
0:33
buttons on don't worry i'm going to show
0:36
as well as making sure that you don't
0:37
sew your pockets shut
0:40
so i've selected these lovely little
0:43
and i'm thinking i'm going to put them
0:44
on one side and not the other
0:47
i quite like symmetry but in this case
0:49
i'm just going to go for one side
0:50
so the first thing you should do is lay
0:52
out your design decide what you want
0:55
and lay out on the jeans to see if it
0:57
works see if it's what you want
1:00
if you have a complicated design i
1:02
suggest marking it onto the trousers
1:04
mine's quite simple so i'm probably
1:07
going to just do mine by eye
1:09
but if it's complex and it matters to
1:11
you how far things are apart or that
1:14
then just draw it on before you take the
1:16
buttons off or as you take the buttons
1:19
i'm happy with that so i'm simply going
1:23
lift the buttons off and place them at
1:26
the side on the table
1:27
so that i can see the pattern and i know
1:29
which ones i had placed where
1:32
i don't need to mark the trousers i'm
1:34
just going to place them to one side
1:37
so start by sewing on your first button
1:39
now if you're sewing directly onto the
1:41
jeans and not onto a pocket
1:43
you can just do it this way simply make
1:47
and i've got a knot in the end of my
1:48
thread stop it pulling through
1:50
and make another little stitch to hold
1:54
and then you're going to take your
1:55
thread and come up through a hole in
1:59
and back down through the other hole
2:03
and then you need another little stitch
2:05
in your trousers but because
2:07
this is just going straight through the
2:09
jeans if you want to you can take your
2:11
needle straight through
2:13
and bring it back out the other side as
2:15
long as you don't sew the front of the
2:17
jeans to the back of the jeans you'll be
2:20
so then take your needle back through
2:21
the button once you've gone through the
2:25
back down through the button again
2:29
as you can see it's already holding it
2:31
but we're going to do more stitches to
2:33
make sure it's secure
2:34
so as you can see i've just gone
2:36
straight out the back you can only do
2:38
that because it's the jeans and not a
2:42
once you're happy it's secure you can do
2:48
take your needle through the loop
2:51
and that will form a little knot i tend
2:56
because i'm a little bit cautious and i
2:57
don't want it all unraveling and my
3:02
and then you can cut off your thread
3:05
and that's it your button's in place and
3:07
it's time to sew the next one on
3:10
and just keep working until you've sewn
3:12
all the buttons on the the base pair of
3:14
jeans that you want to
3:16
but notice i haven't sewn anything to
3:19
okay i've just done the three to the
3:22
nice and simple and there they are
3:25
so now i need to think about the pocket
3:28
and here is where you just need to be
3:31
you need to make sure you do not sew
3:34
unless of course you don't mind so in
3:36
your pocket shot but i'm going to assume
3:37
you want to keep using the pocket like i
3:41
so the best advice i can give you is to
3:44
and make sure you do not sew through the
3:46
rest of your trousers
3:48
you're going to have to work with little
3:49
stitches and not poke your needle right
3:53
so just as before start with a little
3:55
stitch with a knot in your thread
3:58
and then do another little stitch over
4:03
bring the needle up through the button
4:08
back down through the other hole if you
4:10
have four holes in your buttons just do
4:12
what i've done now a few times
4:14
and then work with the other two holes
4:16
it doesn't matter if you cross over or
4:18
do your stitches parallel
4:20
it's a personal choice so work your way
4:24
down i also on my channel have another
4:26
video that's purely dedicated to sewing
4:28
on buttons so whatever kind of button
4:30
that video will show you exactly how to
4:33
sew it on have a look in the sewing
4:35
on my channel okay so you can see i'm
4:41
and then a little stitch behind
4:44
and all those little stitches are hidden
4:46
behind the button so make sure you do
4:50
and just repeat until you're happy the
4:57
and then form a little stitch under the
5:01
and then take your needle through the
5:04
pull it tight you formed a little knot
5:07
as before make sure you do a couple just
5:12
through the loop form a knot
5:16
and then cut your thread off
5:19
and then repeat that process for as many
5:21
buttons as you're sewing onto your
5:24
just keep putting your fingers in to
5:27
take your needle right through the layer
5:29
underneath so i'm just going to repeat
5:35
as if by magic they've all appeared
5:38
and that's me happy with that i think
5:40
the front of those jeans looks great
5:43
i've no desire to put anything on the
5:44
other pocket so that's me done
5:47
however i might add something to the
5:53
so on the back i've got two pockets i'm
5:55
just going to decorate one
5:56
and i fancy doing a little flower
5:58
decoration but the important thing here
6:00
is going to be getting it in the right
6:02
position or it'll look obvious that it's
6:06
i'm just going to show you how to do
6:10
is to put your ruler approximately where
6:12
you think it's going to be
6:14
measure from one side of the pocket to
6:17
and then go halfway across and just do a
6:22
you see i'm using a sharpie you don't
6:24
have to you can use a pen that's going
6:28
and then do the same measuring from the
6:30
center bottom of the pocket
6:33
up halfway up now i'm doing halfway up
6:35
to the seam rather than the top of the
6:37
pocket because that's what i think will
6:38
best personal preference
6:42
so now i've got that center i'm going to
6:46
make sure i'm happy with it and then sew
6:50
so obviously i sewed the blue one on
6:52
first and then sewed all my little
6:53
yellow ones around the edge
6:55
i actually overlapped them slightly when
6:58
but i like the effect i ended up with so
7:01
just take them one at a time
7:03
and sew them all on but again put your
7:06
fingers in the pocket
7:07
and make sure you don't sew through the
7:08
whole pair of jeans and that's all there
7:11
so get creative try those buttons get
7:14
some sparkly ones and
7:16
see what you like so thank you for
7:18
watching if you enjoyed it please give
7:21
