In this video you're going to learn how to make your own cute origami dog
0:04
They're really easy and it's a great craft activity for adults and kids alike

So let's get started. I'm Christine of Christine's Crafts and this channel is
0:12
dedicated to crafting on a budget. All you're going to need is a square of
0:16
paper. It can be any size but the one I'm making is 6 inches by 6 inches and all
0:22
you're going to do to start with is fold it in half corner to corner just like
0:28
I'm doing here. Now you'll see that when I'm doing it on this film I don't always
0:33
get the folds in exactly the right place because I can't get my head above the
0:37
paper. So my top tip here would be get your head directly above the paper. So
0:43
you can see that I've now turned it and folded it again so I've now got that
0:46
cross on the page. So then take one corner and fold it in to the centre. You
0:53
can see exactly where the centre is and just repeat that all the way around your
0:58
square. So you're now making a smaller square. Just get all four done and then
1:09
we'll start to form some of the detail. So take one of your points and open it
1:16
up and then fold the point to that crease that you can see that you just
1:22
made when you folded the whole corner in and make a good crease and then close it
1:27
back up. On the opposite point you're going to fold it back so that it sticks
1:34
out. Now how far you stick it out is up to you. This is forming the tail of your
1:38
dog so the further it sticks out the longer its tail and then we're going to
1:44
fold it closed just like that. Now if you have any difficulties closing it just
1:50
open it back up put your fingernail in there and make sure that crease is nice
1:54
and firm and there you go. You can see we're starting to form a dog we've got a
2:00
little tail. So the next step that we're going to take is to open up your dog and
2:10
pull the top flap down just the top one and then fold the whole lot up from one
2:19
corner there to the other corner there and make a nice crease along there
2:26
It's taking a little bit of time and then fold back along that fold you've
2:32
already got and we can see we're starting to form the dog's head. Turn the
2:41
whole thing over and repeat so pull the point out the bottom and then fold from
2:49
the top corner to the bottom corner and this time it should be lining up with
2:54
what you did last time so it's a little easier to know you're doing it right and
2:58
fold back down. So now you'll see that we have got a dog but he hasn't really got
3:07
a nose yet so we're just going to finish off the bottom of his face. So just open
3:12
it up and pull that inside bit down. Now what you might find here is it's a
3:19
little bit tricky and you sometimes end up with a little rounded bit there
3:23
rather than a nice crisp crease. Does it matter? Not to me it's the dog's nose. So
3:31
now you've effectively got a dog but I do recommend just taking a marker pen or a
3:36
felt tip and drawing a little eye and just colouring his nose in. Just give him a
3:42
little bit of character a little bit of personality and make sure you do both
3:47
sides after all he is a 3d origami dog. And then that's it you're ready to go
3:53
and make yourself as many dogs as you like as any size you like so make some
3:58
big ones make some little ones. If you enjoyed making this dog then consider
