hi and welcome to Christine's crafts
0:03
calm today I'm going to show you how to
0:05
make a five-pointed paper star a nice
0:08
origami project okay now you need to
0:11
start with a Pentagon of paper if you
0:14
want to know how to get a Pentagon
0:16
scroll down and you'll find a link to
0:18
another video of mine that shows you how
0:20
to make a Pentagon so once you have a
0:22
pentagon you're gonna fold it in half
0:24
and you're gonna turn it you're gonna
0:28
fold it in half again so you're gonna
0:30
repeat this for each of the points of
0:33
the Pentagon just keep working your way
0:36
around and make sure you get a nice
0:38
accurate fold up the middle okay turn
0:46
and go again so you've got a fold up the
0:51
center whichever way you turn it and
0:53
they're all the same way so they all
0:55
fold up once you've completed that and
0:59
your Pentagon so flat sides to you and
1:01
the points away fold up that flat bottom
1:04
so that it just reaches the folds that
1:07
go out to those two points wanna either
1:09
side you see where I mean accuracy is
1:14
everything open it up turn it round do
1:18
it to the next flat side okay making
1:23
sure it's accurate making sure you form
1:25
a good fold with all origami it's about
1:28
having a nice crisp accurate fold go
1:34
again make sure it's accurate nice fold
1:37
turn again a nice accurate fold last one
1:50
and then when you open it up you'll be
1:53
able to tell that you've done them all
1:54
but if you redo one it doesn't matter
1:56
I'll just be obvious because it will go
1:57
easily so now we're going to get it back
2:03
how we had it to start with we're going
2:05
to fold up one side and then to the
2:09
right of it we're going to fold up that
2:10
side all the while we're making sure
2:13
we keep the point out so you can see how
2:16
it's laying flat there but you can also
2:18
see it's loose and we're done turn it
2:23
fold in the left hand side fold in the
2:27
bottom making sure the point comes out
2:30
now you're gonna see that this is very
2:32
fiddly and the best advice I can give
2:36
you is to poke your fingers in and make
2:39
sure you get the right bit you'll see
2:41
here oh that's not worked let's poke it
2:44
again get hold of that point and pull it
2:46
to make sure it comes out that's better
2:50
let's go again and you're repeating this
2:53
until you've done it for every single
2:55
point because they're gonna find the
2:58
points of your star take your time get
3:03
them accurate okay
3:06
fold it fold it up from the bottom pull
3:11
that point out you'll notice they often
3:13
poke my finger inside just to make it go
3:15
the way I want it to so now they're all
3:17
done nip each one of those points so
3:21
that it starts to fold up I'm gonna do
3:25
all of them at the same time you'll see
3:28
it starting to fold up to floor that
3:30
star and now you need to get them all to
3:35
nip together and to press down so that
3:38
they go over each other in a clockwise
3:40
direction you'll see what I mean it's a
3:44
little bit tricky but once it goes it'll
3:46
just drop and go brilliantly now you'll
3:49
see one of my points has just gone a
3:51
little bit awry so I'm just gonna
3:53
straighten that up and that's it you
3:56
form the back of your star nice and tidy
4:00
so turn it over and let's form the front
4:03
of this star you're going to take each
4:06
edge and fold it to the center so that
4:09
point will just touch the center and
4:12
then you go out down the point of you
4:14
star and make sure you keep a nice tidy
4:17
point if you're not happy with it
4:19
just have another little go a little
4:21
tweak to make sure it stays pointed open
4:24
it up
4:26
again with the next one you'll see that
4:29
you're just gonna work your way around
4:31
doing this it's the same sort of idea
4:33
you're gonna do each one and after
4:36
you've done each one you open it up
4:37
before you do the next one keep working
4:42
your way around make sure those points
4:46
stay nice and pointed and then once
4:53
you've done them all we're going to
4:57
refold them all at the same time so fold
5:02
one turn fold the next one in turn and
5:07
fold the next one in all overlapping
5:10
nicely hold each other in place turn
5:14
fold the next one in now when you get to
5:16
the last one it's gonna be a little bit
5:18
tricky because you're gonna have to fold
5:19
it inside the other point so just fold
5:23
it but keep it inside that other point
5:26
and that's what's gonna hold it in place
5:29
and there you have it a beautiful five
5:32
pointed star forever crafts you want to
5:34
use it for I've read quite a few of
5:37
these and you can do lots of different
5:39
things with them hang them glue them to
5:42
things whatever here are a few that I've
5:45
made at different papers so the first
5:48
one I'm going to show you has got two
5:50
different patterns so there was a
5:51
different pattern on the other side so
5:53
the back looks a bit different this one
5:55
had only a white back but as you can see
5:57
it doesn't matter if you papers and they
5:59
call it on one side I also made one out
6:02
of a book page to go on my folded book
6:05
Christmas tree and these three I suspect
6:08
they're going to go together to form a
6:09
garland so I hope you enjoy making your
