hi and welcome to Christine's crafts
0:03
calm today I'm going to show you how to
0:05
make a garden gazing ball this can be
0:07
really expensive but today I'm going to
0:09
show you how to make one on a budget
0:11
these are the three that I've made
0:13
they're in my garden I think you'll
0:16
agree they're very effective to replace
0:19
them on the ground or in a stand or you
0:21
can make them with a stick to hold them
0:23
up the choice is entirely yours I'm sure
0:27
you can start to see how I've done them
0:29
so first of all you need some sort of
0:31
ball I've used two polystyrene Bowl mine
0:34
was about five inches diameter and you
0:37
need something to stand it on while you
0:39
working on it I've just used a little
0:41
ramekin dish might use whatever you've
0:43
got then you're gonna need your glass
0:46
beads or pebbles they're sometimes known
0:48
that you can stick on to it they have a
0:51
flat side so that they stick on nicely
0:54
I'm actually gonna stick them on with
0:56
hot melt glue so you're gonna need a hot
0:58
melt glue gun doesn't matter what size
1:00
if you want to put it on a stick clearly
1:03
you're gonna need a stick and it's
1:06
optional but you may want to use some
1:08
clear silicon sealant to seal it all to
1:11
make it more weather resistant I'm not
1:13
showing that in this video but you can
1:15
do it at the end if you want to so take
1:18
your ball get your glass beads and
1:20
you're simply going to cover it so you
1:24
gonna get your hot melt glue put a
1:25
little bit on each glass bead and then
1:27
stick it on now obviously I've sped this
1:31
up because it'd be very boring to watch
1:33
me do all of it but notice that I'm
1:36
working my way around steadily the idea
1:39
being that it won't keep sliding because
1:41
the weight of the glass if it's all on
1:43
one side will mean it keeps flipping
1:45
down and making it difficult and
1:47
annoying to work on so keep working your
1:50
way around getting those glass beads on
1:53
you're gonna keep going until you get a
1:55
good half way down your sphere and then
1:58
flip it over keep going keep adding your
2:02
ball keep pebbles tea ball
2:04
if you're going to put a stick in I
2:07
suggest you drill a hole to put it in a
2:10
little bit smaller than your stick and
2:11
that very soon before you get to the top
2:14
of your ball you put the stick in to
2:16
make sure you can get it in and you
2:17
haven't put a glass purple in the way
2:20
okay and then that's it you're done once
2:24
it's covered it's all finished
2:25
if you want to silicon it like I have to
2:27
mine you can do but to be honest I'd
2:30
still recommend bringing them in in the
2:31
winter I don't they're gonna be
2:32
completely weather resistant so mine
2:35
catching the light just the Sun filters
2:37
through dappled shade from the tree and
2:39
I love them so once again you've been
2:42
out to craft and do it on a budget so
2:45
thank you for watching I hope you've
2:48
enjoyed it and I hope you enjoy making
2:50
your own gazing ball it'd be great if
2:52

2:55
better if you could subscribe and then
