hi in this video i'm going to show you
0:02
how to make your own origami butterflies
0:04
you can make them any size you like
0:05
they're absolutely super easy once you
0:08
get going you'll be making them in a
0:09
couple of minutes you can make them out
0:11
of ordinary copier paper which is what
0:13
i've made most of mine out of how about
0:15
getting excited and making some out of
0:17
old book pages or music
0:19
or some thicker paper that's going to
0:21
make them a little bit sturdier great
0:23
for ornaments what about for a wedding
0:25
or a party or hanging them up for a
0:27
display i'm christina christine's crafts
0:30
and we're crafting on a budget
0:32
so all you need is a square of paper
0:34
mine's four inches by four inches which
0:37
makes a super little butterfly
0:39
and the first thing you're going to do
0:40
is fold your page in half
0:43
make sure you go corner to corner
0:45
and open it up and then repeat
0:48
the other two corners coming together
0:51
and now you should have formed a cross
0:53
that goes from one corner to the other
0:59
and now fold it in half again but this
1:01
time one side to the other
1:07
open it up and do the same again
1:10
and now you're going to do a classic
1:11
origami move which is going to allow us
1:13
to fold this up really easily into a
1:17
so you can see what i'm doing just pull
1:22
and as if by magic your triangle appears
1:26
you can always pause and watch that bit
1:28
but this is what it should look like
1:31
and then place it down with the point
1:35
and then from one side just take the top
1:38
and fold it down but don't take the
1:40
point right to the bottom have it
1:41
sticking out the side slightly just like
1:44
and repeat for the other side
1:50
it should look just like that
1:53
and then we're going to take that bottom
1:56
and we're going to bend it back
2:00
away from those two new points so it'll
2:03
come right up the back and it'll stick
2:05
out over the top and you can start to
2:07
see that butterfly shape forming and
2:10
those bottom points often try to bend
2:13
so that top point fold it over and get a
2:16
nice crisp fold there so it stays in
2:21
nip down that middle and fold your
2:24
butterfly in half so you get a good
2:26
little nip down there that'll keep the
2:28
and then fold your wings back to
2:31
whatever shape you like you can give
2:32
them as much structural curl as you want
2:36
and then when you release your grip
2:38
there you have it perfect little
2:41
you can see how they're super easy you
2:43
could make loads of these and have a
2:47
so thank you for watching i hope you've
