0:00
hi in this video I'm going to show you
0:01
how to make a really pretty but simple
0:04
origami rose really don't need any
0:07
special skills you can make one you can
0:08
make loads great for decorations or for
0:11
a party I'm Christine of christines
0:13
crust.com and this channel is dedicating
0:15
to crafting on a budget so all you're
0:18
going to need is a square of paper I'm
0:20
using 4 in by 4 in you can make them as
0:22
large or small as you like so the first
0:25
thing you're going to do is fold your
0:28
half and then you're going to open it up
0:30
and fold it in half the other
0:34
way make sure your creases are nice and
0:37
crisp run your finger along them a
0:41
brilliantly then once you've done that
0:43
you need to turn the paper over which is
0:45
important and then you're going to fold
0:47
it in half again but this time one
0:50
corner to the other corner so you form a
0:56
lines open it up and go to the other
1:01
and then you're going to do a great
1:03
little origami move that is used in lots
1:06
origami which is you open that up and
1:09
you're now going to use those folds to
1:11
basically collapse your paper in on
1:14
itself and it will naturally go where
1:16
you want it to go because you've just
1:20
folds and there you formed nice little
1:24
triangle just show you what it looks at
1:26
the bottom so make sure that's what
1:29
you've got in front of
1:32
you next thing we need to do once you
1:35
sure all your folds are nice and
1:40
corner and fold it up to the point at
1:44
top so fold it up and you should line up
1:47
beautifully with that
1:54
fold and then do the same with the front
1:58
side so you'll see the back triangle is
2:01
still there flat on the
2:03
table once you've got them both up there
2:06
you're going to take each of those top
2:07
points and fold them down to the
2:12
bottom just make sure you're nice and
2:14
accurate and that you get nice crisp
2:19
creases and fold that one down too and
2:22
your points should come together at the
2:24
bottom the same as they came together at
2:31
and it should look like
2:33
that so now in turn you're going to take
2:38
up and poke your finger into the
2:42
pocket and then flatten it down to form
2:47
square it might sound a bit strange but
2:50
if you watch you will see it's actually
2:52
straightforward so repeat to the other
2:54
side you're going to open up the little
2:58
pocket poke your finger in and flatten
3:06
square so you'll see that you've still
3:08
got the triangle at the back and you've
3:10
now formed those squares on the bottom
3:19
over and repeat that process
3:23
again so you're going to fold each side
3:28
point fold those top points
3:32
down and then in turn you're going to
3:45
down so now that's how it should
3:48
look okay just going to show you
3:52
it make sure yours looks the same as
3:57
mine so then take that top triangle and
4:00
Fold It Down onto your squares at the
4:05
bottom and now we're going
4:07
to go to the bottom of your piece you
4:10
can see all that shape and on each side
4:13
there's a triangle there you need to
4:16
poke your finger in and then press that
4:22
flat this is very difficult to explain
4:24
but I hope you're watching the video and
4:26
you can see Poke your finger
4:30
flatten that triangle down so you've
4:32
done it on both sides and that is what
4:35
the front of your paper should look like
4:40
and the back should look like
4:45
that so make sure everything's crisp and
4:48
flat and that you're happy with it and
4:51
then turn it over and the triangle you
4:54
want to stand it up now CU that's going
4:57
to come up to form the center of your
5:01
and now we're going to try and open that
5:06
side and pull it back onto the square at
5:10
the bottom so that we end up with a
5:13
little bit sticking up at 90° to the
5:15
original triangle you're now going to
5:18
repeat that with the opposite Square so
5:23
with four triangles sticking up from
5:28
paper and they're going to form the
5:30
center of your rows so take a bit of
5:32
time and get that right got those four
5:34
there the next thing you're going to do
5:37
is nip the top and twist and this is how
5:41
you're going to form the Petals of your
5:43
rows it's easiest if you place it in
5:53
twisting and you do have to be quite
5:56
it got a nice tight twist in the middle
6:00
and there you go you formed a flower but
6:02
you're not finished yet you want to curl
6:04
your Petals On The Edge now I'm just
6:07
using a small screwdriver anything
6:10
you've got that's circular and
6:12
small and just curl that outer
6:16
petal and then go around to the next one
6:18
and curl that outer petal and work your
6:20
way all the way around until youve
6:23
formed your rows and you can always nip
6:26
to the middle and twist it a bit more to
6:30
make it how you want yours to look so
6:32
before we finish I just want to talk to
6:34
you about paper you'll be able to buy
6:36
origami paper and do all sorts of great
6:38
effects but all I've used here is copy
6:40
of paper cheap and cheerful and you can
6:43
make loads then and it'll still only you
6:45
cost you a few Pence so thank you for
6:48
watching I hope you've enjoyed it good
