In this video I'm going to show you how to make an origami treat box. You can make them
0:04
any size you like but they work beautifully as these cute little boxes
0:09
Here's one that I made that's a lot bigger using a piece of scrapbooking paper 12 inches square
0:14
So as you can see still works just the same. So I'm Christine of christinescraft.com and this
0:21
channel is dedicated to crafting on a budget. So all you're going to need to make your box
0:27
is a square of paper now the little tiny ones i've made using a six inch square bit of paper
0:33
fold it in half one corner to the other and make sure the colored side is on the inside
0:41
and then repeat with the other two corners and then once you've done that it should look like that turn it over and you're going to fold
0:54
fold it in half again, but this time you're going to take one side over to the other side
1:01
And you can see you're forming some basic folds that we're then going to use to get
1:06
underway folding to make our box So open it all up and turn so you got a point down towards you and then bring one side in and then do the same with the other side and you see it starting
1:21
to fold up exactly how you want it. Bring that top point down and it should look like that
1:28
Now I'm just going to show you inside so you can see how it should look
1:32
and then keep that point down towards you. Take one side and fold it into that centre line
1:42
Just take your time to get it right in lined up with the centre. Get a good crease
1:48
And then do the same with the opposite side. I've only turned it because that just makes it easier for me
1:56
And then open each one up in turn. You'll see that can be the trickiest bit to get your finger in there
2:02
Open it up, and then using your other finger, flatten the flap down
2:09
So I'll show you that again. Put one finger in and flatten it down with the other hand
2:15
And it should look like that. Turn the whole thing over and do the same thing again So you just going to take it to the middle and then you going to open up those flaps and squash them
2:32
Open that one up and squash it flat. Once you've done both sides
2:39
you then need to turn it through 90 degrees and open those flaps out just like that
2:49
So now you can't see any of the white side of the paper. And now fold those edges to the centre line again
2:58
And you'll see we're starting to form the points that are going to be the stars on our box
3:06
So turn it over and repeat. And you'll see your square now looks exactly like mine
3:31
And the top of the coloured bit And then you going to work your way round and do that with all four points
3:43
because they're going to form the star on the sides of your box
3:49
Just keep working your way round until you've got all four done
3:58
And now you've got a box. So you need to open up the top carefully and poke your finger in and you'll see your box starting to appear
4:11
Now it'll be very very bowed at the bottom so you just need to work it carefully with your fingers so it opens out
4:22
And you can use your hand to flatten the bottom and then it's up to you how much you crease those bottom edges
4:28
And there you go, you've got a box. So you can take time just to tidy it up, flatten those edges off, make it look just as square and as tidy as you want
4:37
And away you go, you can make as many as you like So I hope you've enjoyed watching this video and making your star box
