15 Fat Quarter Makes Kit Review

I saw this fat quarters kit and it appealed to me. A book full of ideas and some fat quarters to get started with. So, I jumped right in and bought it. It is a nice size kit and I thought that it would probably make a nice gift. I decided to use the kit and review it on here. If I like it I will buy another for a gift! The book is a cute little book with, not surprisingly, 15 items to make. There are full instructions for each idea. I decided to make the crafter’s treasure bucket. It is the largest item in the book and uses…

    Rosemary and Lemon Hand Scrub

I was meeting up with some friends and I wanted to take a little something for each of them. I came across this great site with lots of ideas and decided to make them all some hand scrub. It is all natural and very useful. All you will need is sugar, lemon, rosemary and olive oil. I will not repeat the instructions here as you can find them at premeditatedleftovers.com. They are incredibly easy to follow. I was able to make the scrub very easily and used rosemary from my own garden so it was very inexpensive to make. When I tried some it really worked well and also left…

    Easy Peasy Cushion Covers

Cushion covers can be so easy to make, without press stud fastenings or fiddly zips. All the skill you need is the ability to sew in a straight line. I do mine on the sewing machine but you could even do them by hand. This demonstration will use a latchhook kit I made and then needed to turn into a cushion cover. You can see how I got on with the latch hook kit on my earlier post. Any fabric or panel you choose can be used to make a cushion cover. So, weather permitting, get out there and enjoy it. 1) Weeding Yes, weeding is number one as it is the most important. The weeds are just getting going really well. As the weather warms up and all our favourite plants start to grow so do the weeds. At the moment they are small and come up easily as the ground is wet. Also, they have not had time to flower and seed (and multiply). It is not a very exciting task but you…

    Easy Peasy Chocolate Fudge

Fancy making some easy peasy chocolate fudge for gifts. I did! I will share exactly how I did it. The recipe is really simple and you can add in anything you like to vary the flavour. Fudge Ingredients You will need: 250g dark chocolate (the better quality stuff is really good) 150g milk chocolate 350g condensed milk 1tsp vanilla extract optional additions eg, 50g pistachios, 50g raisins Fudge Instructions Line a container that is approximately 15cm x 23cm with baking parchment. This will not be used for cooking so it does not need to be heatproof. However a roasting tin works really well. Put all the dark and milk chocolate…
